Three Easy Steps to Get Started

Get Signed Up

First timers: Please fill out an "Athlete Onboarding Form." Coach Toy will contact you to get started with the best options based on your goals. You may also purchase and schedule your first sessions.

Choose a Package

Purchase one of the packages that works best for you. You will be asked to create a log in/password. You will use this for your member login and for scheduling sessions, purchasing future packages, etc.

Schedule your Sessions

Once you have "credits" purchased, the online portal/app will allow you to view open spots for sessions. schedule/cancel sessions, get automated reminders, etc, Scheduling will be first come first serve.

ELEVATE YOUR GAME SPEED

SPEED SESSION PACKAGES

All packages/drop in sessions can be used for either the group speed sessions or the strength + plyo group sessions.

FOUNDATION PACK: (1x/week) Learn proper sprint mechanics for beginners. Pick either an acceleration, max velocity, or a strength + plyo day to attend each week.

PERFORMANCE PACK: (2x/week) Develop better acceleration, max velocity and strength skills each week that will translate to your sport faster. *RECOMMENDED*

COMPETITIVE PACK: (3x/week) Boost your weekly training by adding an extra day for more acceleration, max speed, or try the new strength + plyo class. For athletes ready to transform.

Coach Toy also offers drop-in sessions for added flexibility and private 1 on 1 training for athletes who want fully customized coaching.

EXCITING UPDATES

NEW SPEED CHANGES COMING JANUARY 2026

After two years of training hundreds of youth athletes and reflecting deeply on how to best serve their long-term development, Toy Soldier Training is upgrading its weekly structure to provide even more effective and targeted speed training. Weekly sessions will now feature dedicated focus days:

ACCELERATION : Mondays and Tuesdays
MAX VELOCITY: Thursdays and Fridays

This separation allows athletes to train each phase of speed with intention building powerful first steps early in the week and refining top-end sprint mechanics later in the week. Every session will also include foundational strength work designed to enhance posture, force production, and overall sprint efficiency. By organizing training this way, athletes receive a balanced, progressive approach that reinforces sprint technique, reduces injury risk, and creates a clearer pathway to becoming a stronger, faster, and more confident athlete.

For best results, the ideal training frequency is two sessions per week, allowing athletes to consistently develop both acceleration and top speed qualities. While training once per week is still beneficial, it is not optimal for making significant, lasting improvements in speed.

MEET THE TRAINER

MICHELLE TOY

CERTIFIED STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SPECIALIST (CSCS)

Michelle Toy embarked on her athletic journey at the early age of four, where her love for sports was ignited in her hometown of Kauai, Hawaii. This early start in the world of sports played a pivotal role in shaping her dreams of pursuing a career in athletics.

Coach Toy pursued higher education at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, where she delved into the realms of Kinesiology and Rehabilitative Sciences. She earned both a bachelor's and master's degree, and has dedicated the last 14 years to making a significant impact within the San Jose. CA sports community. Her roles as a mentor and trainer are driven by a relentless commitment to guiding and nurturing athletes and it has not gone unnoticed. She was named the 2023 California State Coach of the Year by the NHSSCA. She was the first female in the state of California to receive that award.

In 2024, Coach Toy founded "Toy Soldier Training", a venture driven by her profound desire to shape the futures of young athletes. Her innate ability to connect with athletes and foster a welcoming and positive training environment is what truly defines her approach. Her sessions are infused with an infectious energy that inspires and empowers those she trains. She trains athletes from 6 years old to the pro level. Coach Toy's mission is to help build a solid foundation of speed and strength for the next generation of athletes.
